DEFINITION OF LEADERSHIP:
Leadership is the ability to influence a group of people toward the achievement of a vision or set of goals. A leader steps up in times of crisis, and is able to think and act creatively in difficult situations. Unlike management, leadership cannot be taught, although it may be learned and enhanced through coaching or mentoring. Leader is the person in a group that possesses the combination of personality and leadership skills that makes others want to follow his direction. * According to Kenneth Bounding; “Leadership is a process by which a person influences others to accomplish an objective and directs the organization in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent.” * According to Griffin; “Leadership is the set of characteristic attributed to individuals who are perceived to be a leader. * According to Heniz Koontz; “Leadership is an art of process of influencing the people so that they will strive willingly and enthusiastically for achieving the organizational goals.
