EVALUATION OF ANTIQUITIES AS A STUDY IN HISTORY       1800W

  The argument I am going to present is the study of the Antiquities, History and if it’s a practical degree of vocation to study.  I want weigh in the advantages and disadvantages of this field as to the impracticality as far as a realistic salary possibility.  I want to explore the difficulties that are beset beleaguered in the discipline of the study of History, which this filed I think is suffering from shrinking ranks and limited job opportunities.  I am now retired and have always loved history, studying this field because I now have time and can afford to do so, but I know with my own experience it was very impractical to study as far as being able to secure a decent salary, with the tough job competitive markets.  I feel that I would not have been able to support my family over the past decades, with the job markets up and down, on a meager salary if I had pursued history as my job endeavor. My purpose and perspective will be to find if these are mere anecdotal impressions or accurate perceptions of changing realities in the discipline?
