The HIV/AIDS PandemicAccording to the UNAIDS/WHO AIDS epidemic update (December, 2005), there are over 40 million people infected with the virus worldwide, and more than 60% of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) live in sub-Saharan Africa.
