In Hospitality Law we were asked to complete an assignment that involves us completing a case study over a specific topic of our choice. I was given the opportunity to choose the topic of discrimination. I conducted some mild research in order to find a certain case that pertained to the topic of discrimination. After completing my research, I found a case that involves litigation against Walgreen Co. in the form of discrimination. The case is titled Raspardo vs. Carlone and I will be providing background information on the case, the main arguments from the parties involved, the laws applied to the case and how they apply and the managerial do’s and don’ts learned from this case.

 

Raspardo vs. Carlone is a case that was first brought to the courts attention when the New Britain Police Department had hired Plaintiff Gina Spring on in January of 2005 and Plaintiffs Jennifer Raspardo and Needasabrina Russell in August of 2006.Spring resigned from the NBPD on August 21, 2008, when she accepted a position with the City of Torrington Police Department.Russell had to goCASE STUDY DISCRIMINATION
